L.I.N.C. and Pied Piper Appeal ‘Family Fun Day’ at Highnam Court

Six MGs and their stalwart crews appeared on display on the day in a ‘small but perfectly-formed’ line-up.  Many thanks to all who came, your efforts were much appreciated.  Most of us will remember the magnificent gardens and superb setting of the house but, for the more discerning among us, the highlight was the pig roast - baps overflowing with succulent pork and stuffing together with excellent crackling.  For others the highlight was the view of a certain member’s free bus pass!!

It was the first attempt at something like this for the organisers from L.I.N.C and Pied Piper and they admitted that there were not enough attractions (apart from us of course); some of the promised events did not turn up and the wind made the mini hot-air balloons unusable.  Attendance was poor, not only because of the weather forecast but mainly owing to the efforts of the Gloucestershire Highways Authority.  If you don’t know what the A40 is like from the Over roundabout onwards and want to find out do take sandwiches and perhaps even a sleeping bag.  Despite the drawbacks the Gloucester MGOC remained cheerful and good-tempered and, on the whole, had an enjoyable day, after all, what better company could you have?  Sterling effort everyone and thanks, sorry this was so late in coming, it was Lynn’s fault, she can’t read people’s email addresses.
