On the 25th April, John and Neil were volunteered
to organise an evening run. To their amazement, the Club Secretary had
picked the best evening we had this year, the weather was sunny with
blue skies ; all this after weeks of cold and damp.
We gathered at the Gala Club and in convoy followed John to the Prescott
Hill Climb where a run up the World famous Bugatti circuit was laid on:
many thanks go to the Bugatti Club for allowing us to use their
facilities. All enjoyed the experience, except Neil whose car revolted
against being woken up from it’s winter sleep by dropping back into
slumber each time pointed at the hill !!;A
run of about 20 miles, based on the usual “Tulip diagrams”, through the
local villages ended at The Mill at Withington where several members
were heard to say “they had not been ‘ere fur years”. This was confirmed
by no-one ordering Chicken in the Basket, the delicacy of the Inn for
children. It must be reported that the car of four made only one stop
--- the next run must include more refreshment stops.
John and Neil hope you all enjoyed the evening and look
forward to the next run on Tuesday 23rd May when the
volunteers, dictated by the Club Secretary, will be Trevor and Sue.

PS the run up Prescott Hill was as good as
an experience gets. I just want to know why the steward at the top
was yelling at me. She was screaming "Course record" or something
like that
