GLOUCESTERSHIRE MGOC TEDDY BEARS PICNIC
Sunday 24th July 2016

After the very warm weather during the week leading up to the Teddy Bears Picnic we were a little apprehensive that it would not last.  The weather did look a little doubtful but we were pleasantly surprise that we had 11 cars arrive at the Fromebridge Mill to take part in the 30 mile run to Minchinhampton Common.  Ken and Glennis brought along friends with their classic cars and Pete arrived with his son and grandson.

Coffee was available at the Fromebridge if refreshments were required before setting off  but I think that only one couple decided to take advantage of it.   Trev and I hastened to the common along with son and grandson so that we could erect the Club gazebo just in case shelter was needed from the hot sun!

It wasn't  long before Terry and Liz arrived, too soon we thought to have completed the run, only to be told that they had encountered an accident and had to do a detour and as they knew the area quite well decided to cut short the run.  We had two families who came direct to the common Dale and Sarah's and Pete's daughter and son-in-law with his latest granddaughter who was only two weeks old.

All cars made it to the common which was a relief.  Soon we were all settled for our lunch, some in the gazebo and others gathered around their cars, but it didn't last for too long as the heavens opened and those with soft top cars headed for the gazebo.  Fortunately it didn't dampen our spirits and a good time was had by all.

Needless to say the weather did curtail the event although the rain did stop and three of us managed to walk across the common for a Winston's ice-cream.
