Trev and Sue's Sunday Lunch

25th October

The first of the Sunday lunches was held at the Tudor Arms Slimbridge where Members,  could, should they so wish, take a walk along the Sharpness and Gloucester Canal, in fact as we arrived we spied Dave and Liz Carter heading for the bridge.

We had been allocated the conservatory, which was light and airy, as we were a large group.  There was a continual stream of caravans going into the caravan park as it was the half-term holiday for most schools.

Lunch was due to be served at 1pm but we were still waiting on 4 Members.  Julie and Keith came dashing in, they had been held up by the Stroud Marathon , which is what had  happened last year to Janet and John. The starters were brought out which caused a slight lull in the conversation but once the main meals were served there was very little talking.  There was plenty of vegetables and gravy for everyone and comments were made that the beef was excellent, which was good to hear

After puddings and coffees the gathering continued with everyone chatting amongst themselves, eventually finishing at approximately 3.15pm.

There  should have been 28 of us but the other Members did not materialise so there were 26 quite a party for a very popular pub to handle on a Sunday lunchtime but I must say they were  efficient and very accommodating.
