Laurence & Jane's Sunday Lunch

22nd February 2015

On a very wet and windy February day, 28 of us gathered at Fagin’s Restaurant for Sunday Lunch, which was a good turnout considering the prevalence of colds and ‘flu. Laurence and Jane had chosen Fagin’s following a visit before Christmas to try out the Restaurant and were suitably impressed. Many of us might remember the Restaurant as The Four Mile House, which was once a coaching inn and dates back to at least 1856. However, after a fire in 2012 it was refurbished and rebranded as Fagin’s Restaurant.

Unfortunately Fagin’s Gruel was off the menu so we had to make do with plan B. The majority went for the Carvery option but several went for a choice from the menu. We had a large ‘L’ shaped table reserved for us and before long everyone had arrived and the conversation flowed.

Those that had opted for the Carvery then went to make their choice. It would be fair to say that Fagin had done us proud with a good selection of succulent meats, yummy Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes, plenty of vegetables and two different types of gravy to choose from. Those that had chosen off the menu also had plenty on their plates when their food arrived.

The main course went down very well and then a few brave souls wanted more and so chose from the Desserts on offer. After we all watched John tackling his Sticky Toffee and Nut Sundae, a few more were tempted and before long several more were on their way.
Laurence and Jane were pleased everybody had enjoyed their meal so would like to thank everyone for an enjoyable Lunchtime.
And nobody asked for more ….!
