Pershore Plum Festival

August 24th 2014

Sunday morning dawned after a really wet Saturday. On checking the weather we found it was more of the same. With great trepidation we trekked over to the start at the Gala club and expected to find no one there with all the "no shows". To our surprise not only were they there but we were the last to arrive.

Tony set off leading the convoy and we all followed. Tony set such a pace that within a quarter of a mile we had lost most of the convoy. On through Tewkesbury and pick up John from the carpark by the bridge. Those non mGs parking in this quiet sspot were immediately surrounded by 13 MGs and they looked totally non plussed.

Once again in convoy to Pershore itself where we were parked in the Abbey grounds. It looked like an MG convention as there were MG clubs from all over the area. The usual fun and games of erecting the gazebo were started but we thought it MIGHT rain later so it was worth it.

Boy, were we right! We just had time to get the bacon rolls and the heavens opened. The rest of the day was mostly in the Gazebo with occassional forays to see the cider sellars

The only high light was when someone fell through his chair! He had obviously brought a large picnic. No, it wasnt me! I wont tell you who it was as Pete V would be embarrassed.

All in a good traditional Bank Holiday so thanks to Tony and Jane for organising it
