MG Club Christmas Dinner

14th December 2013

After two years at the Old Crown Paganhill it was time for a move and Tony and Jane "volunteered" to do this years event. After a few weeks searching they came up with the Royal George at Birdlip. After a quick discussion in the club it was agreed and the date set for the 7th December.

After investigating further there were reasons why it was not suitable so Tony went researching again and came up with a new venue. The proposed venue was the Lilley Brook Golf Club in Cheltenham. Quite a few people had heard of this venue but we needed to change the date as they were already booked for the 7th. Once again a consultation was made and the date was agreed so all was set

There were 40 people attending and these included several fairly new members so it was a great turnout with a broad mix from the club. Tony had organised it well with name tags to plac where we wanted to sit and on the back was the menu choices we had made for those who would inevitably forget what they ordered. Places were taken and all was set for the meal

The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent as was the food. After our three courses we were treated to mince pie and coffee before the raffle began. Once again there were copious prizes and a fairly even spread of winners from all the tables

Frivolities over it was time for the serious socializing and the volume levels soon increased. Before we knew it, it was getting on for 11 pm before we all went home

Thanks go to both Tony and Jane and the Lilley Brook Golf club for a great evening and food. No doubt we will return there
