St Roses Wheelnuts Show

April 29th 2013

Well, we have been here for a few years now and each time it is a social success. This time, however, Trev was determined to organise us. We all had a military timetable to abide to and places were allotted for the troops. We were all subjected to interogation to understand we knew our place and timings.

So, it was no surprise that I had not given out the tickets needed to get in. Still, I was early for a change and was able to give out as the cars drove in.

There were 14 cars today and the arrangement of cars plus the gazebo looked really good. Once all aligned it was time for the social bit and after the erection of the gazebo it was a free for all to get the best places for the chairs.

From there it was coffee and bacon rolls. We were very lucky to be joined by the Headmaster of St Roses and several of the members had a nice chat with him. Spending money on the obligatory Tombola etc was the order of the day. I won a bottle, but this time it was Lemonade. I would have preferred whisky!

All Trev's planning and hard work payed off at 3pm when we won the best Club stand prize which means we will need a trophy cabinet extension. Thanks Trev for the effort

That was it apart from the auction for one hour trip in a Tiger Moth. I won that but please dont let Rita know until I have had time to break the news to her. Bread and water for the next month!
