Sue and Trevs Evening Run

22nd May 2012

The weather had been glorious and we were hoping that it would stay that way for our evening run which fortunately it did.   We thought that as we had organised the run we should be at the Coaley Picnic Area well before the appointed hour but we were not the first,  Adrian, Rita, Eddy and Diana were already there eating ice creams and taking in the wonderful views across to the Welsh Mountains.

We were expecting 16 cars which included our newest members Terry and Liz,  but true to form ‘the boys’ Pete and Derrick arrived making a total of 18, the most we have ever had on one of our runs.   The first car away at 6.15pm was Adrian and Rita, the last being Rob and Julia.  Trev and I beat a hasty retreat to the Lammastide Inn to await with anticipation the first of the cars.

We were most surprised to find that the Lammastide car park was full of motor bike enthusiasts which was not on the agenda, where were we going to park 19 MGs!  no worries the husband of one of the staff members organised the spaces for us.

The run was 29 miles the first part being fairly narrow lanes and in places rough ground,  ending on slightly better roads with a trip round the Sharpness Dock Area, which was of interest to quite a few members.
