GMGOC Sunday Lunch January 24th 2010

Despite having concerns about the recent weather, where the pub was inaccessible due to snow, the day turned out to be sunny with blue skies befitting one of our Club outings.

Eighteen members turned up at the Edgemoor Inn at the village of Edge which is on the road from Stroud to Gloucester overlooking the pretty Painswick Valley.

We were all seated together in the restaurant extension which meant we could enjoy the panoramic view through the extensive glass windows facing out toward Painswick and the hills beyond. The Sunday roasts were beef and pork but there was a wide variety of other dishes for those who fancied a change and the starters and desserts were also quite varied. Despite this variety the Chairman had ice cream for a change, no surprises there then, but maybe it cooled him down after his curry. Graham B managed not to fall off his chair this time.

Adrian pretended to run around taking photographs with the new camera he had for Christmas but we reckon he was just going back and fore checking on how Gloucester were doing at the rugby and yes I know, they beat Newport & Gwent Dragons.

Everyone we spoke to said they enjoyed the lunch which gave very generous portions of meat and was all efficiently served up by the restaurant staff. Our main waitress turned out to be an owner of an MGTF so we may have picked up a new member as a bonus.

As it was a new venue Graham & Pam were pleased that everyone seemed to enjoy it and would like to thank those who turned out in January to make it a very pleasant day.
