Well, off we were to St Roses for yet another year. There was another good turnout of 10 gorgeous MGs and one Mazda. It looked like a record attendance with all those Classic cars. As usual the day was started by the oligatory bacon roll and a cup of coffee. Then it was off to plant the chairs into the mud. After that all the ladies headed straight to the plant stalls. Up went the banners and bunting and before you knew it the whole area had been annexed by the club. Out came the picnic tables and we were all set for the day.
There were also the ubiquitous Tombola stalls boasting the finest Scottish wines with exotic names such as Glenmorangie, The club secretary and myself must have bolstered the funds of those organisations by more than what the Whisky costs. Next year Graham and I will buy a bottle before we go and just put a fiver in the kitty!
After another day spent in the company of friends we were ready to listen to the raffle and collect our prizes. But before that we had to listen the announcement of the Best Car in show and the best Club stand. We were delighted to hear that we had been voted as the best club stand. It was the icing on the cake! Off we sent the club chairman to collect the trophy. On the down side we will have to get Brian to extend the Trophy cabinet, still it will be worth it.
