Laurence & Jane’s Evening Run – 28th April

After the Winter break, Laurence & Jane had been ‘volunteered’ to organise the first evening run of 2009.

As ‘virgin’ organisers, they set to and came up with a run of some 35 miles starting from Painswick car park.

The great day came and there was a very impressive turnout of 12 MG’s and the ‘Imposter’.

The route went out North then West from Painswick on a scenic route heading along the edge of the Cotswolds then descending in the direction of Haresfield & Whitminster. From there we went out in the direction of Frampton & Saul, heading past Epney little knowing that we were passing our eventual destination.

From there we went on a long loop following the Severn around Hardwick, Elmore, Longney and finishing up at the Anchor at Epney - at least most of us did! Peter & Derek’s party decided to visit a few hostelries on the way and then became convinced they were each following the other, with the result that only Peter completed the full course.

Anyway all 13 cars arrived at the Anchor and a very pleasant evening was then spent catching up on the gossip. Judging from the comments, everyone enjoyed the route and there was only one short shower to spoil the evening. So maybe having broken their duck, Laurence & Jane will be organising another run.
