Left : The Xmas Conga

We had a good turnout for the final club meal of the year. There were 37 of us looking forward to ample supplies of Xmas pud! The pub itself had put aside a large conservatory for us and we amply filled it. With the background filled with Christmas music we were all set for a good evening.

At 8pm after half an hour of socializing we were all sat awaiting our food. Three courses later all that was left was to run the raffle. What we were looking forward to was the chance of winning a prize from the raffle, if there were enough prizes. Well, we were in for a good chance as there must have been 50 prizes on display. The table was groaning under the weight and each time someone won it took five minutes to find where it was. It was worth it as we raised over £100 for club funds and some people were seen going home groaning under the weight of five prizes. Personally, I dont hold a grudge against that lucky Mr Smith who won the litre bottle of Glennfiddich. He didn't even volunteer to share with me!

After the evening had run its course it was time for carriages. Unfortunately it arrived before the Chairman and Secretary had fully depleted the stocks of Whisky in the pub.

Thanks to the pub for its hospitality for the night, a good time was had by all. Well, its over to Brian now to see where we are going next year.
