Visit to the Helicopter Museum Weston-super-Mare on the 31st August  2008

Despite the elements sixteen members made their way to Locking admittedly not all travelled in their prestigious classics preferring to do the journey in their modern transport. 

The visit was successful particularly made enjoyable by the hospitality we received (buffet lunch, all you could eat and two volunteer tour guides).

The range of aircraft was surprising from old, right up to modern times including two helicopters from the Queens flight. 

Some of us made the return journey via Cheddar Gorge where the obligatory ice cream was purchased. Whereas others went to see how the pier was still standing. On the seafront was an old steam fair from Berkshire. This was a magnificent display of old funfair rides and brought back many memories of yesteryear. Then off to the chippy for a seaside Fish n Chips on the seawall fighting off the Seagulls
