2008 COTSWOLD  CAPER – PRESENTATION

On Thursday 28th August at 3 o’clock, the Club gathered at the Cotswold Care Hospice at Minchinhampton to present a cheque from the proceeds from this year’s Caper.
           

With an excellent turn-out of 11 cars for a mid-week afternoon event, it was unfortunately not possible to show the cars to best effect : with  work still in progress on the new building, there was minimal car parking. Perhaps on their Open Days when celebrating the completion of the new premises, we could attend and then also see the Garden Furniture purchased with our donation.

        We were welcomed at the Hospice by Vicki Hayward who generously had arranged tea/coffee and cakes, before moving to a Lecture Room for the presentation. Following a brief introduction by Peter Rowbottom, Head of Fundraising, on behalf of the Club John Child presented a cheque for £3250 to Trustee  Norman Dadd.   Many thanks and appreciation were expressed by Peter, Norman and The Reverend Mike Turner.

A tour of the new premises then followed, together with detailed explanations of the facilities, the effect on patients and the improvements enabling the Staff to operate more efficiently.
The Open Days scheduled for Saturdays 18th and 25th of October will enable those who wish, to see the landscaping complete and the garden furniture in situ.
