Sunday lunch

9th February 2008

Crown at Frampton Mansell

aWe had all looked forward to the meal in this 16th century pub. 21 intrepid people ventured forth to sample a February cuisine including one guest from far away Worcester. I had already organised the weather as well as the pub. It was a really nice sunny winters day.

Of course the first problem was getting everyone there. Some people said they knew the way and yet finished up at a different pub. Some went down one way back street tracks against the flow of traffic. It was a surprise that everyone finally arrived. What a treat it was to go into the pub and have a roaring log fire.

bAll went well with the starters and the main courses. It all kicked off when a very brave young lady told us that despite taking orders for 6 Crumbles there were only 2 available. All I can say is that Tim and I were perfect gentlemen when we opted for the Sticky Toffee Pudding instead. We heard all sorts of threats and bribes being offered for the last two crumbles. All I can say is that Tim and I behaved like the sterling chaps we are.

I wont split on Trevor and Graham for being the ones who refused to accept anything less that Crumble. I will say Trev did take great delight in letting me know exactly how tasty it was. Panic for the pudding over we all sat down and had a really nice social time.
